E. – 14 years old

E. is 14 years old and suffers from a severe form of chronic osteomyelitis to the right femur, which results in the right leg measuring 12 cm less than the left one.
She walks using crutches or she uses a wheel chair. She arrived in Italy accompanied by her aunt hoping one day to be able to walk again. After the first hypothesis to amputate the leg and put a prosthesis instead, the decision was made to extend the limb. The girl is currently hospitalized at the Padova hospital where she has already undergone two bone tissue implementation surgeries.
She needs to undergo several more extension surgeries. It is a long procedure, but the odds are good for her to be able to walk again one day.
